Hope you had a great holiday! I spent the actual holiday with DJ/Producer extraordinaire, Randy Bettis and Lady Couture herself, Erin Stacey at a wonderful dinner hosted by Jared, a friend of theirs. Thanks to all of them for making my Turkey Day so wonderful!
The next day was not only my birthday, but my first show in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday night the 23rd with DJ DeMarko! While we had some SERIOUS technical problems (no sound technician), DeMarko’s partner came through and broke out his Geek Squad manual and saved the day! Thanks to them, I made it through the show without jumping (somewhere). Oh yes, I shouldn’t forget to mention the man that decided to go on stage with me during my blackout entrance to grab a photo…his flash was so bright…well, let’s just say the entrance wasn’t that glamorous and when the lights did come on, I was in the middle of asking him to kindly leave the stage so I could perform…nice! LOL
I left the next morning for Toronto with a very stressful tight flight connection that would get me there just in time for a sound check. After arriving and thanking the Universe that everything went well, I was detained by immigration…I wasn’t out of the clear after all. Well, after almost sending me back home because of a work permit issue and 30 minutes of interrogation, I was allowed into the country. My dancers were there waiting and all went off just fine.
The show was amazing and one of the best crowds I’ve seen in a while. Me and the boys had a blast thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the Toronto community!! Check out the performance of Breathe Life below and more videos on my MySpace page .
Have a great holiday season and stay warm!!
